Kellie went to Charleston this past weekend for a friend's birthday. It is a fun city to visit. While there, they (Kellie, Kris and JoAnne) stayed at the Fulton Lane Inn on King Street. They had a two-room suite on the third floor. The place was very charming and close to the "Old Slave Market," now a place where local artists, photographers, basket makers and a host of other people sell their goods.
Anyone visiting Charleston, SC needs to take a carriage ride. It is a great way to see and learn about the city. They say Sam, our horse, has no where to go and all day to get there. He is not the fastest guy on the block, but his slow speed makes taking pictures easy.
There are a many old and beautiful homes throughout the city. The Historic District is pretty amazing. Anything older than 75 years must remain or get approval from the Preservation Committee prior to removal or change. This is the inn Kellie would like to stay at next time she is in town. Rooms run between $280 and $450 a night. Yikes...better start saving up pennies.

Another cool thing about Charleston are all the interesting walk ways, alleys and iron gates.
Rainbow Row, a famous landmark in the City. You can find this by walking down East Bay Street. Homeowners can do anything to the inside of the house, but everything on the outside must remain exactly the same including the paint color, boot scraps and horse blocks.
The girls took a late night ghost tour, which began at the circular fountain in Battery Park. Kellie didn't get scared at all, which is totally amazing 'cause she can't watch a scary movie by herself. The things most creepy about the tour where hearing bats overhead and the old trees with hanging Spanish Moss....oh and the cat that jumped up on the graveyard wall at just the perfect moment. There was screaming....but not by Kellie....she is totally brave....most of the time....okay, some of the time. The tour guide was a little loony, but perhaps that comes with the job. Folks, Charleston, SC is a must-see city!
