New ground. . .

The ground in Kellie's Carolina Cottage is new and she is very pleased.

Ever since she moved into her house, she has disliked the old, stained carpet. Her kitchen floor had a bad scar - dead center. Stanley Steamer, carpet cleaners, rugs and furniture were used to hide (or try to diminish) the floor's blemishes. For two, long years Kellie has been saving up to fix these issues. Today, the entire house (minus the bathrooms and laundry) have soft, stain-free grey carpet. The color grey was chosen because it is neutral and more likely to hide future accidents.

Let's face it. Someone is going to spill, drag in dirt and leaves or in Griffin's case, a thunder storm will scare the pee out of him. Yes, this happens. Here are the results. . .

The hardwood in the entry way was removed and new flooring was laid. For those who have visited before, you will notice that Kellie had the entry way expanded. Loving the expansion. You can walk in and go straight to the kitchen with your groceries without walking on the carpet. And, people don't feel as crowded by the front door.

The new flooring runs throughout the kitchen and really makes the paint and cabinets pop. You've got to see this in person to truly grasp the fabulousness of these home improvements. And to see the colors. The camera doesn't catch the colors correctly.

Good bye ugly floors!
